Wisteria is my favorite flower. In fact, the archway for our rustic outdoor ceremony is covered with wisterias as well. At first, I thought that having the bridesmaids wear Wisteria colored dresses might be overkill, but after trying it out, the effect was actually quite stunning. When I love something, I just want to be surrounded by it!

My parents are both from Japan and they immigrated to the United States before I was born. One of my first memories of Japan was visiting a flower park and seeing rows upon rows of Wisteria. That beautiful memory has definitely stayed with me and I wanted to remember it for my wedding, which is why I asked my bridesmaids if they would wear Wisteria colored dresses.

When I got engaged, one of my best friends – who is also a bridesmaid – bought me this beautiful painting of Wisteria. She told me that in Japanese culture, they're supposed to symbolize good luck for marriages. I love that painting so much and it inspired me to have the bridesmaids wear Wisteria colored dresses too.

My boyfriend, and now fiancé, proposed to me when we were vacationing together in Europe. It was really romantic. The night he proposed, we were staying in this guest house that had Wisteria growing all along one of the facades of the building. That never left my mind and inspired me to pick out Wisteria colored dresses for the bridesmaids.
